The Dangers of a New Camera!

I've been in search of a new point and shoot camera for a while now--I wanted something that had features similar to that of a DSLR with a decent zoom range.  And I didn't want to spend a lot either.  AND it had to be relatively small so I could toss it in my purse.  Over Memorial Day weekend, QVC had a Canon IS150SX on sale, and it seemed to fit the bill, so I ordered it.  Now comes the fun part--getting used to all the settings and so forth.  As a result, I ended up with some strange pictures, at least it is digital and I can delete them.

First--some hamburgers I made.  Normally I don't photograph food, but I made these the weekend of the big Diamond Jubilee celebration and my friend Heather had printed out this neat sheet of little flags to make with toothpicks, and since I wanted to share the results with her, here is the pic:
On to more weird--I needed to read our gas meter and up until a few weeks ago, it was hidden behind an annoying bush.  Get out the camera!  (and the gas company really should replace this meter, it is hard to read regardless)
Keeping the camera in my purse paid off when we saw this bunny in the yard beside our office as we were leaving one night--isn't he cute?

Made a birthday gift for a friend and made the little bags to wrap it in too--had to take a picture!
And of course a picture of Laney--she hates the camera now :)

I love having my little Sony Cybershot in my purse for times like the bunny! I sometimes wish it was a better P&S, but as they say, the camera you have with you is the best camera!
