I have a fixation with covered boxes. All different styles and sizes, and a lot of them are in use in various places in the house. But I hadn't tried making my own, until recently.
I got a Keurig last summer, and since then I've had a problem with what to do with all those K Cups. I thought about tossing them in a basket, but that's so normal, and I absolutely refuse to pay $25 for a spinning rack to hold them in--puhleeze! Not too long ago I bought a box of Gloria Jean's coffee, and really liked the box..........lightbulb moment. A few weeks ago I decided to do something about it!
Here is a before shot of the naked box:
I assembled tools and materials. I chose red themed paper since I have a lot of red accessories in my kitchen.
I measured all the sides:
And then I started cutting and gluing!
I cut the plaid just slightly larger than the measurements so that I could overlap the edge a bit. The solid red was cut just slightly thinner to make lining things up easier.
Voila! Sure beats an ugly Gloria Jeans box, doesn't it?
