2011--New York "State" of Mind

Thought I would get a little caught up on my blogging! Last year we didn't do a ton of traveling, and certainly no trips to exotic locations. Instead we kept going back to New York--1st our trip to New York City in March, then two trips to the area around Letchworth State Park.

One of the things we did in NYC that we hadn't done in a long time was hang out on 5th Avenue and check out the shops. We went to FAO Schwarz, and also checked out all the windows at the big name designer stores. I really wished I had taken some pictures of the Louis Vuitton store windows, they were really unique. Oh well. We did end up going to Tiffany's and it was bizarre--the place hasn't changed a bit since we were last in there about 20 years ago! I did splurge though and bought myself a little something while we were there :)

In June we headed to Letchworth State Park, I had heard so much about it from several people and we were going to be in the area for something else.

In September we decided go back up and check out Letchworth some more, but stayed in Rochester, NY so we could check out some of the other sights. One day we took a nice drive along Lake Ontario:

We also took a trip to the George Eastman House Museum. We had been there about 10 years ago and at the time it was undergoing some serious repairs/renovations. It was interesting to see what all had changed. I will post more later about the house, but I thought this was the coolest thing. A collage of pictures:

And no trip would be complete without running across some of these--honest, I didn't know they were there!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Wow, it's 2012 already--where did the year go? We had a busy year, nothing overly exciting, just busy.

Besides the holiday, the excitement for us in December was that my nephew Matt graduated from college--whoooo hoooo!!! He is glad that it over with and now comes the fun part--job hunting--ick! I wish him luck in his search, it sure is tough for anyone looking about now.

Here are my two favorite pictures I took at graduation:

Any new years resolutions? I am working on getting organized, a necessity since we are living in a smaller house. Purge things that I am not using too. And be more creative--which includes writing more ;)
